Gunnison River Expeditions in Colorado was established in 1985 and is recognized as the largest, most experienced Gunnison River fly fishing outfitter. We specialize in wilderness float fishing, walk/wade trips and Class III-IV white water rafting experiences. We offer guided float fishing and white water rafting trips through the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. This stretch of Gold Medal water is famous for world class rainbow and brown trout fishing, abundant insect hatches and magnificent scenery. Wildlife, including big horn sheep, mule deer, river otter, peregrine falcon and eagles, add to your enjoyment as you travel through this billion year old canyon. Guided Upland Hunting and Duck Hunting
The North Rim Hunt Club offers upland hunting and waterfowl hunting from September 1st through March 31st. We offer access to hundreds of acres of first rate cover for a mixed bag of quail, pheasant, chukar and hungarian partridge. Professional guides and well-trained dogs offer a superb hunting experience.
Our Lodge
The North Rim Fishing and Hunting Lodge is approximately 5 miles outside of the quaint town of Hotchkiss, Colorado. Our 3,000 sq ft., six private bedroom, four bath lodge overlooks the Smithfork Canyon with fantastic views of the West Elk Mountains. We fully accommodate with home cooked meals. After dinner you can practice your shotgun shooting skills at our onsite 5-Stand sporting clays course.
