September Fishing Report

We just got off the river yesterday. The fishing was
fantastic, especially from Chukar Trail to Boulder Garden and from the Smith
Fork to the confluence. Hopper-Dropper was the ideal fly. Large trenoble ants
and caddis mergers as well as some tricose. Streamers also were working.
October splender, whiskey bugger and some leech patterns.

We have seen some October caddis size 14 starting to come
off the very beginning of the hatch. The river is clear throughout the whole
section all the way to Austin. The section from the confluence down to Austin
is fishing great as well.

We’ve been having very nice Indian summer with highs in the
90s and lows in the 50s. Looks like we’re out of the monsoon for a while now.
